ENG: Alexis Lacombe: A Rising Star Joins Costa Rica’s National Team
At just 16 years old, Alexis Lacombe is ready to make her mark in women’s soccer by joining Costa Rica’s National Team. Born in Houston, Texas, but with deep Costa Rican roots, Alexis is fulfilling a lifelong dream that holds a special meaning for her and her family.
Alexis grew up visiting Costa Rica, where her grandparents reside in San Rafael de Escazú. With a Costa Rican father and a Cuban-American mother, she proudly holds dual citizenship.
Her love for soccer began at age 7, and since then, she has built an impressive career. Currently, she plays as a left and center forward for Albion Hurricanes 08 ECNL-RL, where she is her team’s top scorer. At George Ranch High School, she has also shined as a center forward, earning «Newcomer of the Year» honors in her freshman year.
«Playing for Costa Rica is an honor I can’t put into words,» Alexis shared. Representing her country and having her family watch her don the national jersey is a priceless achievement.
Despite travel challenges, including a canceled flight, Alexis is eager to give her all on the field. She’s ready to seize this opportunity and represent Costa Rica with pride.
Welcome, Alexis! Costa Rica is thrilled to have you. 🌍⚽
