Valeria Valverde continues to make a name for herself in U.S. soccer. The talented Costa Rican midfielder was crowned State Champion with her school, Desert Vista High School, showcasing her leadership, skill, and dedication on the field.

Her outstanding performance not only earned her the state championship title, but she was also awarded Arizona’s Most Outstanding Midfielder 2024-2025 and named to the Arizona Regional Best XI, standing out as the only Latina on the prestigious list.

Despite these achievements, Valeria has yet to receive an opportunity with Costa Rica’s national teams, raising questions about the scouting and selection process for players excelling abroad.
